DEOMALI NATURE CAMP » AT A GLANCE

 Deomali Peak, with an elevation of 1,672 Mtrs, is the highest peak in the state of Odisha. It is situated near Barabndha village surrounded by Thuria, Taupadar, Karanjaguda, Mathalamba, Gumelpadar and Kanti in Kotia Gram Panchayat of Pottangi Tahasil, Koraput District. This hill range is rich in mineral resources primarily bauxite followed by limestone and gemstones. Deomali is dotted with brooks and deep valleys and inhabited by Parajas, Kandhas, Bhumias and Mali tribes. It is one of the unique and hot tourist spots of Odisha. It is having an extensive and long stretch of un-surveyed Table land with attractive clouds movement particularly during rainy season.

In order to attract the tourists from various parts of the country and to enjoy the above narrated scenic beauty of this unique destination and to explore lively hood options to local youth this particular Eco Tourism Project at Deomali hill top with the following amenities have been developed.

( i) Model well equipped Eco friendly double occupancy cottage over 10 nos (ii) Dormitory for the stay of Drivers (iii) Office cum souvenir and reception area. (vi) Multipurpose Hall with open dining. (v) Parking Zone (vi) Selfie points

It is a hill station eco-tourism destination. This place is well known for its unique and pleasant weather throughout the year. Winter nights and chilled early morning hours are found to be very special experience and will be more fascinating for visitors.

    The entry timing for private vehicle is 7.30 Am to 8.30 Am at pithabata entry gate.Return timing is 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Nigirdha Gate,7:00 PM at Pithabata gate.No vehicle should be allowed after 5:00 PM in Nigirdha gate.

    Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary and Bhitarkanika National Park is closed for annual Salt Water Crocodile Status Survey from 14.01.2025 to 22.01.2025.
